How do the lenses compare?
SleepSpec and BlockBlueLight’s Original and SunDown are amber; BlockBlueLight describes SunDown as a lighter amber tint for the early evening. NightFall and the Brooklyn filter blue and green light up to 550 nm, so they change colours more than amber. SleepSpec’s deep-amber lens preserves more natural colour than dark-red lenses.
Brands measure across different ranges, so a higher percentage over a wider range is not a like-for-like comparison. Check that the range covers 480–490 nm, the band the body clock is most sensitive to. Every range stated here does.
SleepSpec
SleepSpec makes one pair: deep-amber lenses that block 98% of blue-green light across 400–520 nm, in one unisex 23 g frame with built-in nose pads, spring hinges and a hard case. It costs £29.99 with free UK delivery, estimated at 2–3 days, and you can return it unused within 30 days.
BlockBlueLight
BlockBlueLight’s UK store sells three night-time lenses. The Original is an amber pair at £34.95, with a fit-over version at the same price. SunDown (amber) and NightFall (red) cost £74.95 in a range of frames. Prescription versions start at £134.95 and readers at £99.95; they are made to order and can’t be returned. UK delivery costs £2.95 on orders under £79, and you pay return postage. The store also sells clear and yellow-lens glasses for daytime screens.
BON CHARGE
BON CHARGE sells its night-time Blue Light Blocking Glasses in many frames, most at £99.95. The Brooklyn is stated to block 100% of blue and green light between 400 and 550 nm, with spectrometer results on its product page. Readers cost £109.95 and prescription £149.95. Delivery is free on orders over £99, and you can return within 30 days of receipt.

How we compared
We compared the night-time glasses each brand sells on its UK website, as listed on 27 October 2026: lens colour, the blocking percentage and range each brand states, price, delivery, returns and prescription options. We have not lab-tested other brands’ lenses.
