Why does Erling Haaland wear blue-light glasses before bed?
For sleep. In a 2023 interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Erling Haaland named blue-blocking glasses among the simple things he does to sleep well, and AFP reported that he wears them for three hours before bed. The idea is to cut the blue-rich evening light that can push the body clock, and sleep, later.

What did he say?
“To sleep good, simple kind of things like blue-blocking glasses, shutting out all the signals in the bedroom, I think is really important,” he told the podcast, as reported by AFP in August 2023.
Does it work for people who aren’t athletes?
Two workplace studies, of 63 managers and 67 call-centre employees, reported better sleep and improvements in some next-day outcomes, including work engagement and task performance, with blue-light-blocking glasses. The studies did not test SleepSpec, and individual results vary.
What should you look for?
A lens that states what it blocks. We don’t know which pair Haaland wears, and he has no connection with SleepSpec. SleepSpec’s deep-amber lens blocks 98% of blue-green light across 400–520 nm, for £29.99 with free UK delivery.
